2015

I am still persevering with making bonsai tree but it is not proving as easy as I thought it would be. As usual I have got a new batch of trees which I'm ever hopeful will become future bonsai. I have had some good news about the hawthorn, possibly one of the original batch which I left for dead over the winter because it was uprooted along with many others by a climbing weed, but as its a resilient species it's got buds on so I've topped up the soil and hoping for new growth. The sycamore didn't get up rooted so still hoping it will do well along with a oak sapling, horse chestnut, sucker from the field and a batch of seven small seedlings from the green house it could be a good year thus the optimistic post.

New season

Got a decent batch for the new season. Have taken the wire and string off and repotted with a mis of bonsai fertiliser and manure with a but of roadside mud. Bit worried that I jumped the gun a bit as it was sunny for a afternoon but spring got put back in its place and it's still struggling in April. Was impressed with a few of the features like some exposed roots and the spread of the branches after wiring. Will have to try and hold back and stop killing them off.
